Peruvian-born sculptor Emil Alzamora returns – along with many pieces of his masterful portfolio – to Lanoue Fine Art on Newbury Street for a month-long show titled “Superluminous”, starting Saturday, November 8. Plus, the maestro himself will be present at a special “Opening Reception with the Artist” on Saturday, November 15 from 6-8 PM.

Alzamora, raised in Florida and earning a degree from Florida State Magna cum Laude ten years ago, has created sculptures with an emphasis on the human form, using many materials and media but primarily ceramic, gypsum, and glass. The past year has seen his work displayed in shows around the world including San Francisco, Basel, Atlanta, and Barcelona.

Again, you’ll be able to meet the sculptor in person on this special night. And you’ll also be able to purchase one (or more) of his sculptures as well! I’m sure that, if you do so, Mr. Alzamora would be happy to provide you with his first-hand comments and insight into the piece you buy!

If you plan to attend, make sure to RSVP by calling Lanoue Fine Art at 617-262-4400, or by email at info@lanouefineart.com. Even if you miss, or can’t make it to, the Opening Reception, don’t forget that his show will continue until December 7, so you’ll still be able to see and purchase his works. But if you wait too long, you risk the possibility that many of the pieces may be gone.
