| School Vacation Theatrics at North Shore Music Theatre
Having just concluded a season termed "outstanding" by Executive Producer Jon Kimball, North Shore Music Theatre in Beverly has scheduled a number of activities and workshops for February school vacation week. According to Liz Arno, the theatres Education Associate, the programs are an extension of the Education Departments Summer Stages and After School Enrichment programs. The February schedule includes the following: Creative Drama (ages 6 and 7); February 16 - 19; 9 a.m. to Noon Playmaking (ages 8 - 11); February 16 - 19; 9 a.m. to Noon Clowning Around (ages 8 - 11); February 16 and 17; l:30 to 4 p.m. Improvisation (ages 12 - 16); February 18; 1 to 4 p.m. Musical Theatre (ages 12 - 16); February 16 and 17; 1 to 4 p.m. Auditioning (ages 12 - 16); February 19; 1 to 4 p.m. Registration for each program is limited to 20 and registration fees vary. A non-profit organization, North Shore Music Theatre is supported in part by grants from the Massachusetts Cultural Council and its local agencies and the National Endowment for the Arts Opera/Musical Theatre Program. 1999 subscriptions are now on sale for the season ahead, which is scheduled to include "My Fair Lady," "The Mikado," "Queen of the Stardust Ballroom," "The Secret Garden" and two shows to be announced. The theatres concert season will include such artists as John McDermott, Wynonna and Johnny Mathis. For ticket information and a full schedule of events, call the theater at 978-922-8500.
