Dick's Last Resort, located in Quincy Market at Faneuil Hall
Marketplace in Boston, will present its third annual "Boston
Salutes!," a special evening benefiting The Marine Corps-Law
Enforcement Foundation (MC-LEF), on Thursday, September 18,
from 6 to 9 p.m. Sponsors for the event include AM 680 WRKO -
Boston's Talk Station, the Boston Herald and Samuel Adams
with support from American Airlines and the InterContinental
Boston. For advance reservations to "Boston Salutes!," please call
Dick's Last Resort at 617-267-8080.
WRKO's morning drive-time talk host Tom Finneran ("Finneran's
Forum") will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the event. WRKO will
also host an advance on-air auction benefiting the charity.
For a donation of $30, guests will enjoy a Complimentary Buffet,
Samuel Adams Beer, Wine, House Drinks, Soft Drinks and Entertainment
from Vocalist Helena Ruffen. (Active duty military in uniform and
Gold Star Mothers will be admitted at no charge.) All donations as well
as all funds generated from a raffle held during the event will
benefit the work of MC-LEF.
The Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation is dedicated to
providing scholarships and financial educational support to the children
of active duty Marines and Federal law enforcement personnel killed in
the line of duty. As the organization is all-volunteer, 100% of all
donations are channeled directly into the foundation's programs.
Founded in 1995, The Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation, a
501(c)3 charity has distributed aid with a value of more than $33
million to eligible children and is certified as one of America's Best
Charities by Independent Charities of America.
The event on September 18 is part of a national charitable initiative by
Dick's Last Resort to benefit local military families. From Dick's
corporate headquarters in Dallas, Texas, company president Steve
Schiff commented "Dick's Last Resort locations across the country in
Dallas, San Antonio, Chicago, San Diego, Myrtle Beach and Boston have
always maintained a strong commitment to their local communities. Our
Boston restaurant, in particular, has a long history of leading the way
with charitable events, including an annual Christmas Party with the
Boston Celtics for the kids from Boston Medical Center's Sickle Cell
Care Unit. As we prepare for our third annual 'Boston Salutes!,' we are
honored to help raise funds and awareness in Boston for the incredible
work being done by the Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation. And we
are extremely grateful for the generous support of our friends at WRKO,
The Boston Herald, Samuel Adams, American Airlines and the
InterContinental Boston."
Known for its entertaining, laid back environment, Dick's Last Resort
originally opened in Boston's Back Bay in 1993. The popular restaurant
relocated to Quincy Market in November of 2005.
