Who are you? Meet other young professionals and help the Greater Boston
Food Bank by attending the next event of the "Kitchen Cabinet" (photo cour-
tesy of The Greater Boston Food Bank)

The “Kitchen Cabinet” — the active, creative, and energetic arm of the Greater Boston Food Bank — is comprised of young area professionals committed to helping the GBFB in not only raising money, but also enlisting volunteers and creating awareness and excitement. They’ve certainly developed a reputation for holding some of the hottest parties and events in Boston’s social circuit.

On Thursday, October 30 (the day before Halloween), the Kitchen Cabinet will hold its next event at Rialto Restaurant and Bar in Cambridge. And creatively keeping with the Halloween theme, they want you to come “incognito”!

“Mascherata Veneziana” (Venetian Masquerade) is the Carnevale-themed gala from Kitchen Cabinet. And in true Carnevale form, they want you to show up wearing a mask. If you don’t have one (I do, but mine’s at the cleaners), an additional $10 donation at the door will allow you to create your own mask right at the event.

The culinary wizardry of Rialto Chef Jody Adams will be behind the wonderful eats at the event. Of course, first-class cocktails will be available from Rialto’s master bartenders. Plus, you’ll be able to network with similarly civic-minded, socially conscious young professionals. And let’s not forget that your attendance itself will help feed those who need help the most. According to the GBFB, your donation for the event will provide a much-needed meal to 155 men, women, and children in the Boston area.

Again, tickets cost $85 per person … and an additional $10 if you want to “make your own mask.” Tickets can be purchased online at www.gbfb.org/kitchencabinet.

And assuming that you’re one of the scads of young Boston-area professionals who “make the scene,” you’ll probably see me ambling about at Rialto. I’ll be snapping photos of many of the cool attendees for an installment “Social Outcomes” (I’ll never forgive Dana Bisbee for dragging me out of social retirement!)
