On the outside, the store doesn't exactly look like a treasure trove of photographic equipment, or knowledge. And you'd be wrong.

Bromfield Camera sells a complete range of cameras for all levels of shutterbugs In addition, Bromfield Camera is an authorized dealer for the brands they sell. That's important; while you can buy "non-US" merchandise (called "gray market") for a lot cheaper, oftentimes US repair facilities of camera makers will refuse to honor warranties. Nikon USA, for example, will refuse to repair a gray market camera even if you pay for repairs.

And while you'll find a wider-than-normal variety of cameras, you'll also find something which you probably won't at a typical camera store "chain" — or even a major department store: accessories for most cameras. If you're looking for lenses, filters, bags, straps, cables, and other esoteric but important camera add-ons, chances are that Bromfield Camera will have it in stock .

In my personal experience shopping at Bromfield Camera, what I've always liked is the knowledge and helpfulness of the staff. They will recommend merchandise based upon your current and potential photographic needs; dissuading you from higher cost products whose features you don't need or want.

My personal recommendation: if you visit Bromfield, look for "salesperson extraordinaire" Willy King (left). He knows an awful lot about not only the store's inventory, but also photography in general. In addition, if you shop around for a camera and find a better price, Willy will try to beat it. At the very least, you will benefit from Willy's photographic advice and expertise!
