Valentino Fragrances Warm Up for Spring

The signature fragrance for women from Valentino, V is a vibrant fragrance that's every bit as feminine as the celebrated designer's collections. It's a sparkling blend of woody, floral, and oriental notes that results in a classy, sophisticated fragrance. Top notes of mandarin, pink grapefruit, and fig blend with heart notes of orange blossom, rose petal, and freesia with melded undertones of cedarwood and amber. Valentino V is an elegant yet modern scent for the woman who isn't afraid to be noticed.

Though it was launched in 2005, this deliciously warm fragrance is what’s hot this minute. “We are entering a season of warm fragrances. Warm in the sense of longer lasting accords, notes which do not evaporate quickly and create a rich base aroma which moves up into the heart note of the fragrance," says  Virginia Bonofiglio, for The Fragrance Foundation. “Ingredients such as amber, musk and vanilla are in vogue. These are not your grandmother’s oriental type fragrances. These new warm scents are sensual and corporeal. They come to the nose quickly and beg to be put on the skin.”

Although the fragrance counter can be overwhelming, I fearlessly made my way through the hoard of invasive sprizters to try Valentino V. Immediately I loved it and was complimented on my choice by the sales woman. “This is a very sophisticated, classy fragrance,” she told me.

Also this spring, Valentino has just released V for men. V Pour Homme by Valentino is a charismatic scent with a touch of sensuality was created for the masculine man that enjoys luxury. The intense ambiance of V Pour Homme strikes a balance of warm spice and wood notes blended with fresh, contemporary like bergamot, mandarin, plum, and transparent floral.

Look for both of these sensuous scents at the new 3,000-square-foot Valentino boutique, opening at 45 Newbury Street at the end of the month.
