Conrado Bondoc, Executive Editor

Yes, I know that many of you may have your eyebrows raised with this crop of magazine recommendations ... why is Conrado pointing out other sources of info other than Boston Superlatives?

For the record, I do try to give all readers the very best information, as well as my most honest opinions. However, in the interest of all the readers, I also believe that "you can never have too much information!"

Below are a few periodicals which I do read regularly. They provide coverage on a variety of subjects which I feel will interest you.

Conrado's Infallible Commentary

Robb Report
Robb Report

Robb Report is dedicated to providing relevant information and news to purveyors of luxury goods and to those people and entities that have the desire and financial means to purchase, maintain, and enjoy the finest things in life.
I cannot recommend this magazine too strongly! For me, each issue serves to "open my eyes" to new brands, products, and services in the "superlative world!"

Example: five years ago, by reading Robb Report, I learned about the existence — and the rarity — of the most sought-after type of diamond in the world: the "Golconda" diamond, which has not been mined in over 100 years.

Wine Spectator
Wine Spectator

Wine Spectator shares your love for the world of fine wine and all it has to offer … great restaurants, terrific resorts, world-class cuisine. Subscribe today and you won't miss these best-selling issues: Annual Cabernet Report, Restaurant Grand Award Winners, Top 100 Wines of the Year, and Great Wine Values. Plus, every issue comes with the famous Wine Spectator Buying Guide, full of reviews and ratings for over 500 wine releases.
As many of you know, I constantly recommend that readers use any wine rating as a "guideline," not as "dogma." In other words, use ratings to help you make a buying decision ... but don't let the rating be the decision!

Having said that, Wine Spectator provides hundreds of ratings of newly-released wines in each issue. Plus, it includes features on wine varietals, regions, and news.

For wine collectors, Wine Spectator's auction coverage will give you good information on planning and acquisition.

Boston Magazine
Boston Magazine

Boston Magazine covers leisure activities, local politics, business trends, and financial developments in the greater Boston area. The monthly magazine also offers a regular dining and travel guide, reports on the latest fashion trends, profiles of prominent Bostonians, and arts and entertainment coverage.
This is probably the only magazine with comprehensive coverage of "all things Boston."

Interestingly, maybe the best part of Boston Magazine is their frequent "advertising supplements," which provide compact guides to special events in the Boston area, such as arts festivals, etc.
