Video Recommendations
R.J. Donovan, Arts & Entertainment Editor

What's better than a bowl of popcorn and a good flick? Here are some across-the-board suggestions that you may find worthy of insertion into the old VCR.

A Bug's Life

Another sensational animated effort from Disney, this is a film for kids that adults will love too. It reminds you of "Toy Story" in that a lot of the humor is there just for the grown-ups -- the kids will never get it. Quality all the way and the outakes during the final credits are great.

Good Will Hunting

This would be worth having just because it was made in Boston. But more than that, the Matt Damon-Ben Affleck award-winning creation is an outstanding, true-to-life story of friendship. If you aren't puddling up by the time psychologist Robin Williams finally gets through to Good Will, you ain't got no heart.

The Very Best of the Mary Tyler Moore Show

Fourteen episodes from the classic television series starring Miss MTM herself along with Ed Asner, Valerie Harper, Ted Knight and the ever-annoying Cloris Leachman. Best of all, this collection includes the Emmy Award-winning episode, "Chuckles Bites The Dust." Feel free to throw your hat in the air before each episode.

Psycho

A taut thriller (that never should have been re-made), this is one of Hitchcock's best. Janet Leigh is killed off in the first 20 minutes and Tony Perkins has more mother issues than any decent taxidermist should be saddled with. Hitchcock was the master as suspense. Three decades later, this is still one of the scariest movies you can own.
